Kent christensen also known as Bboy StepOne starting breakn in 1996 after watching the Jason Nevins MTV music video clip 'its like that' helped create the Crew. Faith City Rockers. 97' Who went on to perform. Compete. Teach and tour up and down the country for over a decade. With many artists from the original crew still doing their art to this day. Kent went on to hold weekly jams. Start running local competitions. National and then international level events. Judging and teaching workshops all around the world. Helping to create opportunities for New Zealand artists to thrive and have many opportunities around the world.
Thebreaksnz just naturally came about as a way to encompass all the different things we at the time we're doing anyway. So just made sence to form a way to bring it all together. As events go the past few years thebreaksnz hasn't hosted many events due mainly to personal situations. But have always been around to support and show love to others doing there thing. And I see this and also thebreaksnz being a place to document past. Previous projects happening in one place. As just a natural progression of what thebreaksnz is all about
